Broncos are tackling real-world sustainability challenges head on!

The Bronco Challenge is a transformative experience designed to empower students across all disciplines, with this year’s participation doubling last year.

From Textile Recycling and Food Waste Minimization to Campus Childcare and Digital Equity and Cultural Inclusion in Education, students prepare projects to propel us closer to a future that’s inclusive, fair and environmentally aware!

From to Forbes 30 Under 30, this Western alum is making his mark on the influencer marketing industry!

Tinashe Chaponda, a Bronco and The Kalamazoo Promise scholarship recipient, is making waves in influencer marketing with his company, Sosani Studios—a passion he discovered while on campus. Working with industry giants such as Amazon.com, Cash App, Warner Bros. Pictures and Lexus, Chaponda has gained notoriety in his field.

Shortly after receiving the Forbes honor, he launched a new initiative, Project 30-30-30. The program will begin in Kalamazoo and will offer eight courses led by other professionals on the Forbes list along with mentorship opportunities and a $3,000 educational stipend!

Today's MLK Day speaker and teach-in sessions are inspired by this year's theme, "The Power of Nonviolence: Lasting Change."

Bakari Sellers, political commentator, attorney, civil rights activist and former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, will speak on campus today during our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration.

Sellers' talk at 6 p.m. in Miller Auditorium will follow a campus teach-in event with three sessions beginning at noon in the Student Center ballroom.

Congratulations to MODA members Genesis Fernandez, a fashion design and development student, and Ainsley Rahm, a supply chain management student, for winning the fourth annual WMU x NYFW competition!

Kinetic imaging (KI) is a new program at the Gwen Frostic School of Art that focuses on art and technology while implementing high-touch, high-tech facilities that are accessible and embrace the future of experiential learning and community engagement!

From gold to Grand Rapids Gold, Western Michigan alum Trey Conner is living out his hoop dreams! 🏀

Conner, the chief operating officer of the Grand Rapids Gold basketball team, graduated from Western in 2011. He says his fondest memories are attending WMU sporting events!

“Western encouraged me to get more involved and understand that outside of class there are more opportunities to do different things. Being involved in those organizations set me with the mentality of doing more than what’s being asked of you," he says.
