PT faculty with continuing status should have received (via KVCC email) their course preference forms for the Winter 2025 semester. These forms must be returned by August 25th. If you haven’t received your course preference form, need assistance completing it, or aren’t sure whether or not you qualify for continuing status, please reach out to your union for assistance.

WE HAVE A CONTRACT!

ATTENTION KVCCFT MEMBERS:
As reported last week, we have reached a tentative agreement for our new contract. One stipulation of the TA is that it must be ratified by KVCCFT before June 30th so that it can be approved by the KVCC board in their July meeting. Towards this end, all members have received a copy of the TA to review prior to the ratification vote, which runs from June 20th until June 27th. Members will receive their ballots and voting instructions via email on June 20th. The KVCCFT executive board and bargaining team strongly urge you to vote yes to ratify the new contract.

WE HAVE A TA!

After months of bargaining, KVCCFT and KVCC have reached a tentative agreement for our new contract.

Per the agreement, part-time faculty members will receive a 9% pay increase over the next three years. Additionally, all part-time instructors teaching in Fall Semester 2024 will receive a $100 ratification bonus.

A copy of the complete TA will be sent to KVCCFT members soon along with information about the ratification process.

Big thanks to the bargaining team and to everyone who has helped us out along the way. We truly are stronger together.

BARGAINING UPDATE
As you are aware we have been at the bargaining table for the past several months negotiating our new contract. We have TA’d several issues, including an increase in training reimbursement, and are nearing the end of negotiations. The only outstanding issue left to address is salary increases. It feels like we are close to the finish line but we need your help to get us there. Please plan to attend the next bargaining session and show KVCC administration that you support your union‘a efforts to win a fair contract and a meaningful salary increase.

WHEN: Thursday, June 13th 9:00
WHERE: TTC Room 3330
WHAT: We will meet to discuss the status of negotiations and general union business 30 minutes before negotiations start. Members are also welcome to sit in on the bargaining session. Coffee, donuts and other light refreshments will be provided.

The KVCCFT bargaining team met with the college today to start contract negotiations. Even though it is Spring Break, several members came out to support our efforts. During our first bargaining session, KVCCFT passed six proposals. We are proposing a 20% increase over the next three years. Check your email about our other proposals. Our next bargaining session is scheduled for Thursday, April 4th at 1:45. Please come out to show your support!
