Already registered?

Review the participating institutions and recruiter schedules in Handshake. New schedules may continue to be added, so check back periodically.

Consider your goals when choosing sessions. Group sessions can be a good way to explore institutions and learn about opportunities. One-on-one sessions are best used for focused conversations with recruiters whose institutions and opportunities align with your background and interests.

Research before you register for a one-on-one session. A thoughtful conversation with the right recruiter is more valuable than several random conversations.

Three-Minute Thesis competition sign-ups are available!

This year we will hold three separate first-round competitions for Master's and doctoral students in the areas of:

Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences (Nov 10 at 5:30-7:30pm),

Health Sciences (Nov 13 at lunchtime), and

Science and Engineering (Nov 13 in the morning).

The final UMKC round between the four top winners of the three first-round competitions will be hosted by SGS in March 2027.

Student should complete the emailed survey by October 1 to express interest in one of these first round competitions.

About 3MT:

This is an opportunity to present your Master’s or Doctoral work orally in three minutes, with ONE fixed PowerPoint slide as an aid.

The skills learned through such presentations are numerous, including how to describe your project effectively to non-experts, how to present your research succinctly in a job interview or other professional setting, and how to focus your project in terms of goals and outcomes. Constructive feedback will be provided in practice sessions and by the judges after the event.

Monetary prizes will be awarded after the competition date for applicable winners.

The institutional winner (Final Round First Place) will be funded to participate in the regional MAGS 3MT competition in Minneapolis on March 24, 2027.
