UMKC Department of Psychology & Counseling We are academic leaders in the research, education and training of psychology professionals

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Department of Psychology and Counseling is focused on behavioral science contributions to health and health care. Our faculty members are national and international leaders in research on areas such as tobacco use, obesity and eating disorders, child development, child trauma, safety and violence, and community factors in health. At the undergraduate level, the department offers a general program of study leading to the bachelor of arts degree in psychology. A psychology minor is available to students majoring in other disciplines. The Department of Psychology & Counseling also offers a MA degree in Counseling and PhD degree in Clinical Psychology.
