MCC-Penn Valley Health Science Institute Metropolitan Community College Health Science Institute is a state-of-the-art healthcare learning facility. Our 190,00 sq. ft.

building takes hands-on learning opportunities, clinical skill practice and patient care teamwork to the next level. The Health Science Institute is designed to centralize the health care career programs in one building that mimics both health care and real-life settings, incorporates instructional methodologies such as; interdisciplinary simulated learning using state-of-the-art equipment and cloud-based lecture capture which allows student access to learning materials 24/7. The combined elements of this model foster student fellowship, life-long learning and supports student success. The health care career programs are affordable, accredited and yield a good return on the student's investment of both time and money through gainful employment and high wage salaries.

This event is an opportunity for prospective students, families, and community members to explore the many healthcare pathways available at HSI. Guests will be able to tour our facility, connect with program directors, and learn more about programs that prepare students for careers in various healthcare fields.

MCC PV Health Science Institute Dental Assisting Program students and faculty participated in the 20th annual TeamSmile Oral Health Youth Clinic hosted by Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The nationwide program originally started at Arrowhead. Approximately 350 children from seven area school districts (including local KCKPS students).
Dental Assisting students volunteered in free dental screenings, exams, cleanings, and necessary fillings or treatments, and in fun activities including face-painting, a live DJ, dancing, and goodie bags

If you’ve ever had surgery, you had a surgical technologist by your side—and may not have even known it! They are in the operating room before, during, and after your surgery to help your surgical team run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
