What a night to remember!

235 guests joined us for SWAU’s 2026 Annual Scholarship Gala, an evening filled with western charm, heartfelt stories, and generosity in support of our students.

From inspiring testimonies by Diana Gamas, Kate Rodriguez, and alumnus Keith Barrow to exciting auctions and a special performance by the University Singers, every moment reminded us why we gathered: to help students pursue their education and their calling.

Celebrating a Historic Moment at SWAU.

Our university family gathered for the inauguration of Nelu Nedelea, PhD, as Southwestern Adventist University’s 27th president.

The ceremony brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends for a meaningful celebration of faith, leadership, and our shared mission.

In his inaugural address, President Nedelea reminded us that while students must navigate their own journeys, they never have to walk alone.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for this special occasion and look forward to the opportunities ahead.

375 Helping Hands. One Mission to Serve.

This year's Ignite Service Day was our largest yet, bringing together approximately 375 SWAU students, faculty, and staff to serve communities throughout Johnson and Tarrant counties!

From helping at food banks and animal shelters to providing health screenings, improving community spaces, and spending time with seniors, our SWAU community showed what it means to put faith into action.

But service doesn't stop after one day. We're grateful for the organizations, volunteers, and community partners who make these opportunities possible throughout the year.

Making a Difference Beyond Campus.

The Thompson Trail groundbreaking brought our community together to celebrate a new half-mile nature trail honoring more than a century of Thompson family history.

We’re proud to recognize SWAU alumna, Board of Trustees member, and 2026 Hall of Fame inductee Renee Sensabaugh ’81, whose generosity alongside Dr. Richard Thompson helped bring this project to life.

Hosted by Keene ISD, this project reflects the impact of investing in our community while preserving its history for future generations.

This annual event brings together alumni, friends, and community partners in support of the First-in-Family Scholarship, helping students who are the first in their families to pursue a college education.

Dear SWAU Community,
Southwestern Adventist University has terminated the employment of Seth Day, a faculty member of our school. Day joined the faculty on July 1, 2026. On September 27, 2026, we placed him on administrative leave. We have been informed that the allegations against him do not involve SWAU students, staff, or other faculty members. The safety of our University community remains our first priority.
