Bachtober Fest was once an annual tradition of the Southwestern University Department of Music. After a few years away, ๐’˜๐’†โ€™๐’“๐’† ๐’ƒ๐’“๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’Š๐’• ๐’ƒ๐’‚๐’„๐’Œ โ€” ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘ฉ๐’‚๐’„๐’‰ ๐’Š๐’” ๐’“๐’†๐’‚๐’…๐’š ๐’•๐’ ๐’‘๐’‚๐’“๐’•๐’š.

Not exactly convinced that an evening with a long-dead composer sounds like your idea of a good time? We get it.

But this isnโ€™t your typical โ€œsit quietly and listen to old musicโ€ concert.

Youโ€™ll hear some of Bachโ€™s greatest hits, a few of his ๐’”๐’–๐’“๐’‘๐’“๐’Š๐’”๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’๐’š ๐’“๐’Š๐’…๐’Š๐’„๐’–๐’๐’๐’–๐’” ๐’”๐’๐’๐’ˆ๐’” (yes, Bach had a sense of humor ๐Ÿ˜‚), and works by modern composers who have taken Bachโ€™s music and completely reimagined it.

๐ŸŽจ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐˜†! Join us 30 minutes before the concert for a live art and pottery demonstration, plus a chance to learn about the instruments Bach himself would have knownโ€”including a harpsichord and clavichord demonstration.
