We know people are already packing the car and getting the MapQuest directions printed out for Move-In tomorrow morning and we’re guessing some of them might be slightly nervous about arriving here. We’d like to offer some simple tips to make the day go smoothly.

Keene State College and the Keene State English department are thrilled to share that professor Dr. Brinda Charry’s new novel HOCUS POCUS is being published this month and already has starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews and Publisher’s Weekly, and is the Library Journal fiction pick of the month!

Please consider joining Dr. Charry's kickoff event for HOCUS POCUS for a conversation with the author, which will be held in Cohen Hall at the Keene Public Library on Saturday, August 29th at 11am, with discussion moderated by Keene State professor Christopher Parsons.

Owls in STEM! This summer, Keene State student Gemma P has been working in a lab at the University of Maine, Orono where she is contributing to the Sustainable Wood to Fuel and Fish Feed (SWF3) project.

In her words: "The goal of the project is to turn forest and agricultural byproducts into sustainable biofuels. My position focuses on developing solvents to break down wood in the first step of the process."

It's the kind of hands-on science that doesn't always make it into a course catalog but is exactly the kind of opportunity we love seeing our students take on. (Giant green pencil for illustration purposes only. Not technically lab-approved.)

The Theatre and Dance graduate earned his way to Open Jar Institute in Times Square, training with Broadway artists by day and watching them perform at night. Watch Kei tell the story of his summer in his own words. This is the kind of hands-on, industry-connected training that's a hallmark of Keene State's Theatre and Dance program.

Alex wasn't considering college. He was scared of the price tag and figured trade work was his path.

One year later, he's a diamond turning machinist at Janos Technology — cutting materials used in infrared systems and military optics, with his pick of four job offers before he chose one.

His mom found the program on social media. Two weeks before the semester started, Alex was in.

A special visitor stopped by Oya Hill this week, Keene State's free speech zone, where students have held vigils, tabled for causes, and made their voices heard.

This particular visitor had her own statement to make: more belly rubs, more treats, and longer walks between classes. No 25Live reservation required. 🐾

Dogs are always welcome on our campus (just not inside the buildings!) tag us in your good boy/girl sightings around KSC.
