The Fall cohort is officially underway!

Earlier this month, we welcomed 53 new students to the program during orientation. The energy and sense of community were evident from the very beginning as students connected with classmates, faculty, and staff before launching into their first semester.

We are proud to welcome this group of professionals and look forward to supporting them as they develop new skills, expand their networks, and advance their careers.

Here's to a great start and an even greater journey ahead!

Join us in celebrating Philip, our MBA Owl of the Month!

As a student in the Organizational Entrepreneurship & Innovation concentration, Philip began his MBA journey seeking a new challenge and a pathway toward his long-term goal of starting his own business. His passion for turning ideas into reality continues to drive his growth both inside and outside the classroom.

In his role as Manager of Videography for KSU's Strategic Communications and Marketing team, Philip leads the creation of video content that supports the university's brand and marketing efforts. He credits his Entrepreneurship Innovation & Creativity course with helping him strengthen his ability to guide projects from idea generation to ex*****on, making him a more effective leader during the creative process.

After completing his MBA, Philip hopes to pursue entrepreneurship and build a business of his own. Recognizing the challenges that come with launching a venture, he is committed to using the knowledge and skills gained through the MBA program to help set a strong foundation for success.

Congratulations, Philip! We are proud to celebrate your achievements and look forward to seeing what you accomplish next. 👏

July MBA Owl of the Month: Karen Vickers 🦉

Karen began her MBA journey to strengthen the years of experience she has built in budgeting, finance, administrative operations, HR, and project management with a stronger business foundation. Since joining the program, she has earned Lean Six Sigma White and Yellow Belt certifications and is currently working toward her Green Belt, gaining valuable tools to approach challenges with a process-focused mindset and drive organizational improvement.

One of the most meaningful parts of Karen’s MBA experience has been the relationships she has built with fellow students. Through engaging conversations and diverse perspectives, she has gained new ways of thinking about problem-solving and leadership that continue to enhance her work today.

After completing her MBA, Karen plans to continue advancing in budgeting, finance, operations, or project management roles. As someone with a deep connection to Kennesaw State University, she also hopes to continue contributing to the institution that has played such an important role in her professional and personal journey.

When researching MBA programs, look for curriculum and leadership training designed for an ever-changing landscape.
CEO Magazine recently highlighted how we approach this at KSU: "By embracing continuous change, KSU is preparing graduates to not only adapt to change, but to become change agents themselves."

✨Alumni Spotlight✨

We’re proud to spotlight Andrew Cox and the leadership perspective he’s built. His story is a reminder that growth isn’t just about experience; it’s about how you choose to lead along the way.

Over time, Andrew has come to believe that a meaningful career isn’t just built on what you accomplish, it’s shaped by whom you choose to be along the way.

With more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience, Andrew credits his MBA with strengthening both his confidence and his perspective. The program didn’t just introduce new concepts; it gave language and structure to the leadership principles he had been developing throughout his career.

Through the program, Andrew refined his ability to slow down, ask better questions, and make thoughtful decisions, even when the path forward isn’t clear. More importantly, it reinforced a belief he carries into his work every day: that great leadership lives in the balance between confidence and humility.

Today, as Chief of Staff and Vice President of Leadership at Wellstar Health System, those lessons show up in quiet but meaningful ways: building trust, aligning teams, and helping others move forward with purpose. Because for Andrew, leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about having the courage to step forward, the humility to keep learning, and the discipline to do the right things for the right reasons.
