Carthage has two Nursing Education Centers on campus; Lentz Hall Nursing Education Center and Duncan Family Nursing Education Center.

This summer the Lentz Hall Nursing Education Center received a remodel. This updated space includes four high-fidelity patient and control rooms and a virtual reality simulation room.

White Coat Ceremony
At Carthage College, the annual White Coat Ceremony marks the formal transition of junior nursing students from foundational pre-clinical coursework into hands-on, specialty-focused clinical training. This ceremony marks the halfway point of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) track before the two final years of intense clinical practice.

Abigail Havican '27

Major: Nursing
Internship: Nurse Extern at Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin

As a nurse extern, Abigail works directly under a registered nurse, helping create a care plan tailored to patients and their needs. She also assists with patients’ daily activities and provides medication, wound care, and therapy.

“Clear communication in a hospital setting can provide accurate and timely patient care. I have learned that alone just from orientation.”
