UW-Parkside Wind Ensemble and Community Band present
"Roots of Early American Music"
Thursday, March 12 | 7:00pm | Bedford Concert Hall
In anticipation of the 250th of America, come hear early musical influences that have become part of the fabric of our culture.
Special guests include organ soloist Brian Schoettler in Charles Ives' "Variations on 'America'" - trading variations with the band - and Glenfele (fiddlers Anna Perkins and William Bice, with guest Andy McDonah on guitar) trading Scottish dances with the band in "Four Scottish Dances" by Malcom Arnold.
Also on the program; "Maiden Voyage" by Shirley Mier, "Exhilaration and Cry from 'Southern Harmony'" by Don Grantham, and "Fanfare Esprit" by Carol Brittin Chambers.

This week and weekend, the Rita is full of music and theatre!
Join us for the final Noon Concert of the Fall ‘25 series featuring The Devin Gray Trio, the Parkside Symphony and Community Orchestras, and the opening weekend of the Theatre Arts Department’s production of
“Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley” Come experience powerful music and theatre at Parkside’s Rita!

World renowned jazz artists Devin Gray (piano) and Mark Feldman (violin)
are joined by Parkside’s very own Russ Johnson (trumpet) for a concert of electrifying and dynamic music.

The Parkside Symphony and Community Orchestras present a concert of music from you favorite movies.
Come hear themes and other music from Lord of the rings, Forest Gump and many other familiar films.

A sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set two years after the novel ends,
Miss Bennet continues the story, only this time with the bookish middle-sister Mary as its unlikely heroine.

Students from the UW-Parkside and Carthage College visited City Hall today to learn about how local government operates.
During the visit, students met with Mayor David Bogdala, City Administrator John Morrissey, Ald. Kenny Harper and Kenosha Police Chief Patrick Patton. They discussed city operations, public safety and opportunities for young people to get involved in their community!
