You belong here! Your identity, your story, and your voice are essential parts of our community - please know that you are seen and supported here. Kent State is continuing preparations to meet the upcoming deadline to comply with Ohio Senate Bill 1 (SB1), which mandates the closure of three identity-based centers.

We understand this marks a significant and deeply felt transition for our community. Although the departments will close on June 27, our commitment to student belonging and community remains stronger than ever.

The recently added SMC Satellite Space, located in the Tri-Towers Rotunda, unveiled a mural highlighting a student's journey through the E. Timothy Moore Student Multicultural Center from their first year participating in Kupita/Transiciones (K/T) through Karama Ya Wahitimu/Celebracion de los Graduados (a pre-commencement celebration hosted by the SMC).

SMC student assistant Arianna Bliss, who is graduating in May with a degree in studio arts with a concentration in painting, has been working on this mural throughout this academic year and has named it “Legacy.”
