We are entirely inclusive to the Kent State Athletics community, encompassing former student-athletes, donors, fans, season ticket holders, faculty/staff, the entire City of Kent and its surrounding areas. The Golden Flashes Club is a group comprised of passionate donors to Kent State Athletics which depends on philanthropy to provide Kent State student-athletes the assistance they need to excel a

cademically and athletically. Your tax-deductible gift to The Golden Flashes Club allows Kent State to provide support to more than 400 student-athletes every year, as well as operational support for 17 varsity sports as well as Cheer and Dance programs. The primary goal of The Golden Flashes Club is to help offset the $7.2 million annual scholarship bill and capital enhancements to Kent State athletic facilities. In recognition of your support, The Golden Flashes Club can provide members with various hospitality options, premium seating opportunities, preferred parking, donor appreciation games with game day giveaways, special events and much more. We spoke with alumnus Ian Holt, ’18, about his time in Kent State's nationally recognized golf program and his professional golf career. 🏌⛳🛺

Ian has already captured two Korn Ferry Tour victories this season, which is the main developmental tour for the PGA Tour, and put himself in a strong position to earn a PGA Tour card. With much of the season remaining, he also has another route available; one more win would earn him an immediate promotion to the PGA Tour.

Ten years ago, the 2016 Golden Flashes Field Hockey team delivered a season to remember.

With a 14-7 overall record and an undefeated 6-0 in the MAC, these Golden Flashes captured the MAC Championship and cemented their place in program history. That season also saw Ines Delpech, ’18, earn All-American recognition.

Help us celebrate the 10-year anniversary of this championship team and their incredible achievement! 🏑💙💛

Justine Siegal, M.A. ’00, started her nonprofit organization Baseball for All during her time at Kent State. It is the largest girls’ baseball organization in the United States, dedicated to empowering the next generation to become leaders in the sport and their communities.

Justine became the first woman to coach for a professional men’s team with the Brockton Rox, and in 2015, the first female coach in the MLB for the Oakland Athletics.

Her work with Baseball for All has come full circle as its programming has provided access for more girls to play baseball at the youth level and, soon, professionally. Justine was approached by Keith Stein to co-found the Women’s Professional Baseball League (WPBL), which will be the first professional women’s organization in more than 70 years.

The WPBL’s inaugural season began Saturday with regular season games and playoffs through mid-September.

This Flashback Friday celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1976 MAC Championship for the men's swimming and diving team! This team included Varsity K Hall of Famers John Ovsek, ’79, and Thom Stolkey, ’77.

Did you know: the swimming and diving team was a varsity sport from 1962-88, and their pool was in what is now the main lobby of the MAC Center!
