Kent State University CSGS

Kent State University CSGS The Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality at Kent State University is coming soon!

The CSGS is combining three undergraduate programs (Gender and Sexuality, LGBT Studies, and Women's Studies) and creating major and minor courses for students across all Kent campuses. The CSGS will also reach out to the public and will be a local and national figure in educating others about important topics relating to gender and sexuality. This will ensure that our knowledge and research reache

s outside KSU's student population, and gets community members involved. The center will be a hub for research on gender and sexuality and provide scholarships and grants to help our students develop and thrive. Lastly, the center will work with students from all campuses to ensure their advising and support needs will be met and exceeded. Our goal is to focus on the intersectionality of race, class, nationality, religion, immigrant status, and other important identity statuses. This will ensure we improve public as well as academic discourse on marginalized groups. Essentially, to quote our director Dr. Molly Merryman, our aim is to be a "hub of social justice."
