It was a nice visit from recent M.M. Graduate from Kent State University School of Music and 1st year Doctoral Student in Jazz Studies at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Michel Drake at the Kent State University Jazz Studies Jam Session Wednesday, at the Board and Bevy in Kent, Ohio! Come through and hang! These sessions are an amazing opportunity to build community and share music and culture together!
Keep an eye out on our social media pages, for events like KSU Jazz’s annual residency program with BLU Jazz+ for our HS Jazz Nights Series, starting the First Wednesday of March!
This will feature multiple local area high school schools, as well as the Kent State Jazz Orchestra and various combos throughout the month, which is an ongoing pledge to the KSU Jazz Studies Studio Mission Statement, which aligns with creating opportunities within the community to promote jazz education, culture, as well as creating community engagement through jam sessions and concerts and masterclasses throughout the year.
