In the Glauser School of Music, we train the next generation of music educators, scholars, performers and technology experts through 15 immersive undergraduate and graduate programs that ignite passion and stimulate curiosity. From Western Classical and Jazz to the many African and Asian traditions, our nearly 30 ensembles annually welcome over 500 music majors, nonmajors and community members to learn, celebrate and perform music the world has to offer. Every summer, we host the Kent Blossom Music Festival in partnership with The Cleveland Orchestra to become a center of professional music training for over 40 highly skilled young artists from around the world.

Spend your summer studying music in Florence! 🎶

Kent State School of Music students have the unique opportunity to earn their fine arts core credit while exploring the intricate links between Florence's art, architecture and music. Students will spend most of their class time visiting museums and studying classes such as Understanding Western Music or Music as a World Phenomenon, with plenty of live music opportunities outside of class.

A Season of Homecomings is here! 🎹

The 2026-2027 Kent Keyboard Series welcomes guest artists, alumni and current and former faculty back to Northeast Ohio for a season of performances.

The season kicks off with a special opening concert featuring Giuseppe Guarrera, presented in collaboration with Piano Cleveland, followed by performances from Daniel Milan, Cicilia Yudha, Jerry Wong and Donna Lee with guest collaborators.

The Oct. 16 opening concert is free, but tickets are required.

Join us October 17 for the Kent State Honor Choir Festival Concert! 🎶

The Kent State Honor Choir Festival is an immersive day of high-level, collaborative music making for area high school students in conjunction with KSU students and faculty.

Join us for a brief, informal performance celebrating the Kent State Honor Choir. This event is at the University Auditorium in Cartwright Hall and is free and open to the public.

Hear from internationally recognized Italian pianist Giuseppe Guarrera at Art Without Limits!

Guarrera has earned international recognition through major competitions, such as prize awards at the Cleveland International Piano Competition (2024), the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition (2023) and the Montréal International Music Competition (2017). With many notable chamber music collaborations as well as solo performances, Guarrera’s work reflects ongoing contributions to the international performance landscape, with sustained engagement across major venues, festivals and educational institutions.

The All-Star Band is an annual high school honor band event proudly hosted by the Kent State Band program. This unique opportunity allows students to collaborate with guest clinicians, attend masterclasses and faculty performances, and culminate the weekend with a grand finale concert.

Stanley’s thoughtful coaching, mentorship and attention to detail provided an invaluable experience for our students. We truly appreciate the time, expertise and generosity he shared with our musicians.
