In the Glauser School of Music, we train the next generation of music educators, scholars, performers and technology experts through 15 immersive undergraduate and graduate programs that ignite passion and stimulate curiosity. From Western Classical and Jazz to the many African and Asian traditions, our nearly 30 ensembles annually welcome over 500 music majors, nonmajors and community members to

learn, celebrate and perform music the world has to offer. Every summer, we host the Kent Blossom Music Festival in partnership with The Cleveland Orchestra to become a center of professional music training for over 40 highly skilled young artists from around the world.

🎻 Orchestra directors and private teachers: Nominate your outstanding high school string musicians!

The Kent State Honors Orchestra Festival will be Nov. 1, 2026, bringing a full day of master classes and sectionals, including a rehearsal and performance with the Kent State Symphony Orchestra.

Students must be nominated by their orchestra director or private teacher by Oct. 6, 2026.

Dan Jaszczak returned to Kent State to celebrate receiving his Master of Music in Music Education, following the same ceremonial mace his father created. Read more at the link below ⬇️

Twenty-eight years ago, Michael Jaszczak created a lasting symbol of the university's Commencement tradition while completing his masters degree.

Tomorrow, that same ceremonial mace will lead his son, Dan Jaszczak, into Commencement as he celebrates receiving his master's degree from Kent State.
