Keuka College President Amy Storey was recognized as a 2026 Trailblazer in Higher Education by City and State NY.

“While other small upstate colleges have been facing financial headwinds or even closures, Amy Storey has Keuka College on the upswing,” the citation reads.

The awarding body highlighted the College’s commitment to aligning academic offerings with regional workforce demand, as well as its landmark campaign to enhance lakeside campus amenities and expand scholarship support.

Keuka College's Commencement weekend made it to the Today Show!

Student speaker Madisyn Theresa Robinson-Mayer, a Management major, had no idea her brother, Army Combat Medic Specialist Tyler Robinson, had flown overnight from Fort Stewart, Georgia to watch her graduate. When College President Amy Storey paused her remarks to call Tyler to the stage, Madisyn’s reaction – and the standing ovation that followed – stopped the ceremony in the best possible way.

Tyler said it simply: “She’s the first one to graduate college. I’m proud of her.”

The clip went viral, and this morning the Today Show featured the surprise. We’re proud of Madisyn, grateful for Tyler’s service, and honored that a Keuka College Commencement became a moment that resonated across the country.

Congratulations to KC’s Latest Emerging Leaders Graduates!
 
This spring, a new cohort of second-year students completed Keuka College’s Emerging Leaders Program, a selective 10-week experience within the Momentum: Second-Year Experience Program.
 
Supported by Vice President for Student Development and Dean of Students Dr. Liz Lambert, Associate Provost Dr. Malia Spofford Xavier, and Women’s Volleyball Coach Rachel Fiser, students spent the semester strengthening their leadership skills, building resilience, and developing confidence in their voices and abilities as leaders.
 
The program included a special guest presentation from Dr. Twyla J. Cummings, Chair of the Keuka College Board of Trustees, who shared insights on leadership, growth, and professional success with the cohort.
 
We are so proud of all they accomplished throughout the semester and excited to see where their leadership journeys take them next.👏 💚💛
