Our recent work on effects of oil exposure on wild mahi-mahi was covered in the Scientist:

Mahi-mahi were more likely to be eaten and less likely to spawn after being exposed to sublethal concentrations of oil, raising concerns about the risks oceanic drilling pose to life in the ocean.

baby loggerhead turts hatched on the campus beach! Repost from

Good news, , , and ! We know you’ve been eagerly waiting for news on the loggerhead nest near the Darwin Beach pier, and this , we’re happy to let you know that it hatched this past weekend! 4 live hatchlings and 104 empty egg shells were found by our team upon excavation, and the little loggerheads were released immediately that morning. We wish them the best as they venture out into the deep blue! 👋💙🐢

*All marine turtle activities are conducted by trained personnel under FWC MTP-22-153*
