For the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Theta Delta Sigma Chapter, a commitment to youth literacy doesn’t end when the boxes of books are delivered—that is just where the impact begins.
Following up on their recent donation of 200 brand-new children’s books to Timber Ridge Elementary School, chapter members made a vibrant return to the campus.
This time, they stepped directly into the classrooms to bring those very stories to life for enthusiastic kindergarten and first-grade students.
The return visit turned the donated literature into a shared, interactive experience.
Utilizing classroom smart boards to display the colorful pages, the fraternity brothers took turns reading aloud and engaging the children. Whether diving into the animated journey of The Turtle's Cracked Shell or exploring the meaningful lessons within The Lion's Promise, the students were completely captivated, hanging onto every word.
This hands-on reading session forms the core of the chapter's "Adopt-a-School" initiative, proving that mentorship is a continuous investment. By returning to read the books they provided, the brothers did more than just promote early childhood literacy; they reinforced a visible, consistent presence of positive role models in the lives of local youth.
