URI Master of Environmental Science and Management

We look forward to seeing you this evening to talk about courses to take (and avoid) as well as other advice about how to thrive as a MESM student!

If you're a first semester student, come ask questions. If you have been in MESM for a while, come share your wisdom.

You can only have pizza if you come in person, but we have a zoom option as well. (https://uri-edu.zoom.us/j/96259559324?pwd=9FBIWcuilUa9itGFKDVTITnABtzmWA.1)

On a recent camping trip in NH, Michelle's family realized they were all repping MESM. When's the last time you wore your MESM gear in the wild? We'd love to see photos.

Join us to connect with old friends and welcome new students to the MESM program! We'll provide some food and drinks, but we welcome potluck contributions to round things out.

Congratulations to Yvonne Wingard, CELS Communication Fellow, for winning Best Virtual Presentation at the Fourth Annual International Graduate Student Showcase!

As our world becomes more urban, digital, and fast-paced, we risk losing not only our connection to the Earth but also the language and understanding that tie us to it. Yvonne’s research explores how this decline in ecological literacy - our awareness of our deep interconnection with natural systems - shapes how we care for nature and may inspire more environmentally responsible behavior.

This work was completed as part of Yvonne’s culminating experience in the Master of Environmental Science and Management program.
