Join us in welcoming Dr. Vishal Patel from the Class of 2011 back to the Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy!
Dr. Patel is the Chief Executive Officer of the Manor Group of Pharmacies. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree, graduating with honors, from the Texas A&M Health Science Center Rangel College of Pharmacy, where he was also a founding member of the Epsilon Epsilon chapter of the Kappa Psi Pharmacy Fraternity.
Dr. Patel began his professional career at CVS Pharmacy before transitioning to independent pharmacy practice, a path that would come to define his career. He advanced from staff pharmacist to Vice President of Pharmacy Operations at the Southside Group, headquartered in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. In this role, he built and managed pharmacy operations across major markets nationwide, including California, Florida, and Texas.
In 2016, Dr. Patel launched his own venture, opening his first pharmacy in Manor, Texas. He has since expanded the business to include a second pharmacy location in Houston, along with two additional ventures: a medical billing company and a freestanding ambulatory infusion center.
Dr. Patel's current interests lie in integrating artificial intelligence into pharmacy practice, with a focus on streamlining prior authorizations and appeals to help patients start therapy sooner.
