TAMUK Veterans Upward Bound

Our Success Coach Joanna Benavente is attending today’s Veterans Roundtable! 🇺🇸

We’re excited to connect, learn about new opportunities and resources, reintroduce our program to potential participants, and gather valuable information that we can bring back to better support our Veterans. Most importantly, we’re looking forward to meeting new attendees, connecting with fellow Veterans, and building new partnerships within our community.

Together, we’re continuing to connect Veterans with the resources, support, and opportunities they deserve! 🇺🇸❤️

VUB held our monthly academy with Presenter Marcos Alvarado on How to Cope with PTSD. Marcos is a former participant who will soon be graduating in May. He presented an education filled presentation to our Veterans and held a Q &A that helped our Veterans connect and explore additional ways to cope. Our Veterans also shared their experiences on how they became resilient in their struggles. It truly was a success!! We also surprised Marcos with a cake to acknowledge his hard work and upcoming graduation!!

If you would like to be a participant VUB is recruiting!!! We would love to have you in our Program! Come see Joanna Sergio Benavente or Diana Lozano for information on how to apply!!

Veterans: Your Next Mission Starts Here!!!!

TRIO Veterans Upward Bound is Now Recruiting Veterans!

The TRIO Veterans Upward Bound Program at Texas A&M University–Kingsville is currently recruiting veterans who are interested in preparing for college or continuing their education.

Our free program supports veterans who plan to attend a four-year university, community college, or technical/trade school.

A lot of veterans tell us they’re interested in school but feel it's been a long time since they've been in a classroom. Our program helps bridge that gap so the transition back to college is easier.

Our program is free for eligible veterans, and we help with things like:

Refreshing math, writing, and study skills
Navigating college admissions
Financial aid and GI Bill guidance
Academic advising and support once you're enrolled.

If you are a veteran considering going back to school or training for a new career, we are here to help you succeed.

For more information or to apply, please contact the TRIO Veterans Upward Bound Program at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. 361.593.2483 or 361.593.4564
