Do you remember where you were 25 years ago? Like the students pictured, I remember sitting around the TV in a classroom, watching these defining events unfold. Today, we honor the lives lost and the families, communities, and nation forever changed by September 11, 2001. We also remember the firefighters, first responders, and other individuals who showed up from across the nation, including South Texas, and demonstrated extraordinary courage and sacrifice that day and in the days that followed.

Texas A&I football fans, we need you to help us preserve the legacy of Javelina football! We have 120+ reels of A&I football games that we want to digitize and share online so fans, alumni, researchers, family, and future generations can relive these games.

And tomorrow, your donation can go TWICE as far! Starting at 8am on September 1, the TAMUK Foundation will match online donations 1:1 between $100 and $1000 while matching funds last. That means a $100 gift becomes $200 or a $500 gift becomes $1000. Help us rediscover and share the moments and memories of Texas A&I football!

Did you know? In 1938, over 12,000 pecan shellers, primarily Mexican American women, walked off the job in San Antonio to protest low wages and harsh working conditions. 🌰✨Led by activist Emma Tenayuca, the San Antonio Pecan Shellers Strike became the largest strike in the city’s history, ultimately leading to a wage increase for the workers. 💪

Fun Find Friday is here! 🥳We discovered some early blueprints from the 1920s to 1930s of the South Texas State Teachers College (later Texas A&I and then TAMUK). The Administration Building (now Manning) was the second building on campus.🥈 It is also where classes, the library, and offices were located in those first years!
