Our DH2 students had the privilege of hearing from a lively, funny, and engaging guest speaker in Oral Pathology!

Our very own Ms. Hoff had everyone’s attention and made learning both fun and memorable! We love seeing our students engaged and learning from the amazing talent right here in our own program.

Our DH1 students got creative this week while learning about the demineralization and remineralization process! Through hands-on arts and crafts, students explored how minerals are lost from and restored to tooth enamel, helping them better understand the importance of protecting and strengthening teeth.

Who knew learning about tooth health could be so much fun?

🦷Another group of our amazing DH2 students spent the day giving back!

Jenny, Brooke, Jia, Celeste, Kacie, Abby, Bri, Christal, Patricia, and Meredith traveled to Edinburg, TX to volunteer with Texas Mission of Mercy. They had the opportunity to work alongside dental professionals from all over Texas while providing care and serving the south Texas community.

We are so proud of our students for putting their skills, compassion, and dedication to the dental profession into action. Experiences like this are a wonderful reminder of the impact dental professionals can make through service! 🦷

🦷Our DH2 students were busy representing dental hygiene this morning!

Isa, Alondra, Alyssa, and Julia participated in the Kingwood Park High School HOSA event, where they spoke with multiple groups about the dental hygiene profession and shared their experiences as dental hygiene students.

The students also demonstrated basic clinical skills by disclosing one another and teaching the groups how to score biofilm. They also demonstrated how to properly teach a patient effective brushing techniques.

We are so proud of them for sharing their knowledge, promoting the profession, and giving students a hands-on look at what it’s like to be a dental hygiene student!🦷

Way to represent, ladies! 💜

🦷 DH1 students have been busy this week!

In Preclinic, students are learning how to properly use sickles and developing their instrumentation skills. In Radiology, the focus has been on posterior periapicals and gaining confidence with image positioning.

So much learning and hands-on practice happening as they continue building their skills! 🦷

🦷Sending the DH1s ALL the good vibes as they continue through a big week of exams, competencies, and skill evals!

And a special shoutout to our DH2s, who left little notes of encouragement throughout the week to remind the DH1s that they’re cheering them on! 🥹💜

DH1s, you’ve put in the work, now trust yourselves, stay focused, and show what you know. Take a deep breath, take it one day at a time, and remember: you’ve got this!🦷
