On February 28, 1959, twenty women of vision met at Dobbs Training School to organize a chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Today, we celebrate sixty seven years of service, scholarship, sisterhood and social action in our community!

This , we reflect on the vision of Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who established Negro History Week in 1926 to ensure Black stories were studied, preserved, and honored. For generations, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has upheld that mission, recognizing that knowledge of the past informs present advocacy and shapes future leadership. Safeguarding history strengthens our ability to serve with clarity, purpose, and accountability.

Today, as efforts to limit or rewrite Black history persist, our responsibility to protect it remains paramount. Preserving our archives, sharing our stories, and affirming our rightful place in history is more than an act of remembrance, it is active stewardship of our legacy and culture.

We are Anchored in Our Legacy because Black history is American history.
