Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. - Alpha Xi Chapter Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., is the first African American Greek-lettered business and professional sorority established by African American businesswomen.

Iota Phi Lambda (ΙΦΛ) was founded in 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, by Lola Mercedes Parker. Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. seeks to:

-Unite in sisterhood qualified business and professional women in order to enhance and improve the status of women in our highly complex, competitive business and professional world.

-Promote increased interest in the broad field of business education among high schoo

l and college young women through planned programs and scholarships.

-Encourage the development of personal goals and leadership potential.

-Establish and promote civic and social service activities for youth and adults. The Sorority’s most recent and national youth projects place emphasis on the social, economic and psychological needs of youth by offering programs of remediation through tutoring, career exploration and teen pregnancy prevention.

It’s official! The State of Arizona has issued a Founders’ Day Proclamation honoring the legacy and impact of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. across our great state!

From empowering Black businesswomen to uplifting our youth, Iota women have served Arizona with purpose, passion, and power for generations. 💚💎

Thank you, Governor Katie Hobbs, for recognizing nearly 100 years of sisterhood, service, and business excellence.

Sorors from Zeta Kappa (Phoenix), Zeta Tau (San Tan Valley), and Eta Delta (Tucson) came together in unity for a powerful Statewide Founders’ Day Ceremony, celebrating the vision of our Founders and the strength of our collective impact.

Black History Spotlight of the Week Mrs Charlotte Berry.

South Dallas Business and Professional Women's Club, Inc. has named Charlotte Berry as Woman of the Year in recognition of her outstanding leadership, inspirational service, and significant contributions to the community. For years, Mrs Berry has demonstrated exemplary character, confidence, and presence across various arenas,making a lasting impact on those she served.

A dedicated community leader for 40 years, Mrs Berry is a proud member of the Greater Trinity Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. Mrs Berry also serves as the 24th National President of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority,Inc., a role in which she continues to uplift and empower others.

Mrs Berry's community service extends across multiple organizations in the Dallas and DeSoto areas. She has played an active role in the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Women's Foundation, and contributes to the Texas State Senator Royce West's Conrad Intern Program, further demonstrating her commitment to mentorship and community service.

Mrs Berry has excelled in both the private and nonprofit sectors, serving in leadership roles as a manager and director. Most recently with the City of DeSoto as a Victim Advocate for Family and Victim Violence, supporting individuals in critical situations.

Through her unwavering dedication, advocacy, and leadership, Charlotte Berry continues to be a beacon of hope and progress in the Dallas Community!

The Alpha Xi Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. proudly celebrated Black History Month with an inspiring theme: "We Are Black History."

A huge thank you to our guest speaker, Rev. Sam Brown, President of the Knoxville NAACP, for sharing his insights and wisdom with us.
