Through the Haslam Scholars, Chancellor's Honors, Honors Leadership, and 1794 Scholars programs Honors at UT strives to support high-achieving students and their varied interests.

Introducing our first Honors Alum Spotlight: Baylee Baron! 🎓✨

A May 2026 graduate with a major in Biochemistry & Cellular & Molecular Biology and a minor in Public Health, Baylee is now a medical student at UT Health Sciences.

Through an Honors research fellowship and grant opportunity during her first year, Baylee began a research journey that led to experiences on campus, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

We are proud to celebrate all that Baylee will accomplish in medicine. 🧡

At Sunday’s New Scholars Welcome, 706 first-year scholars, as well as 56 student leaders, gathered to celebrate the start of their UT journey and hear encouraging remarks from Chancellor Donde Plowman and Senior Vice Provost and Chief Honors Officer, Dr. Amber Williams.

We are excited to see how this extraordinary group will learn, lead, connect, and leave its mark on Rocky Top. Welcome to the Honors community, scholars! 🍊

Introducing a new pathway to prepare Tennessee’s next generation of healthcare leaders. 🧡

Launching this fall in partnership with UT Health Sciences, the University Honors Health Fellows Program connects high-achieving University of Tennessee, Knoxville students with a direct-admission pathway to graduate programs at UT Health Sciences including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy and occupational therapy.

With dedicated advising, clinical experiences, and guaranteed seats for students who meet all requirements, our new Health Fellowship will make it easier than ever for our University Honors students to achieve their professional goals in their desired healthcare field.
