After 10 weeks of building, learning and refining their ideas, 20 entrepreneurs took the stage at Summer Studio Demo Day to share how far they, and their ventures have come.

Hosted by the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Tennessee, this year’s Summer Studio brought together students and alumni from six UT colleges to transform early-stage concepts into investor-ready ventures. Even after the program, 88% of participants say they plan to continue working on their ventures over the next year.

For Isaiah Duran, earning an MBA wasn't just about adding another degree. It was about preparing for what comes next.

From Stafford, Virginia, Isaiah earned his Online Master of Business Administration through the Haslam College of Business - UT while getting married, welcoming his first child, advancing his career in public health, and preparing to help grow his family's coffee business.

Although business was a completely new field, Isaiah embraced the challenge and earned his second master's degree.

"Entering the online MBA program was a new world that I had never been a part of. I am proud to have finished this degree with no prior business knowledge."

Congratulations, Isaiah!

For Harrison “Harry” May and Jacob Howard (UT ’25), an eight-hour service project became something much more.

Through Haslam’s Full-Time MBA Torchbearer service project, the two began volunteering with Emerald Youth Foundation, where they found meaningful ways to combine their passion for sports with mentorship and service. Months after completing their required hours, they continue to show up — putting the Volunteer spirit into action and making an impact that extends far beyond the classroom.
