The KLASS Center has a new location! 📍

They are now located in the Bailey Education Complex in A221 - A237. Check-In for clients is in A226.

The KLASS Center is a university-based clinic helping learners thrive through assessment, intervention, and social skills support.

They serve:
• Children and teens with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, or dysgraphia
• Students experiencing attention challenges, including ADHD
• Individuals with autism or social communication difficulties
• Children with behavioral or emotional concerns affecting school or home life
• College students seeking academic or psychological support
• Families seeking guidance on educational planning or special education eligibility
• Individuals needing documentation for accommodations (e.g., IEPs, 504 plans, standardized tests, board exams)

For many researchers, earning an R01 award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a career-defining achievement. For Leala Holcomb, it came remarkably early.

The R01 is NIH’s flagship award for independent investigators, and receiving one typically takes years of research and a strong scholarly record. Leala earned one on the first attempt as an early-stage investigator, a rare accomplishment and the first R01 of this scale awarded at !

Leala's work to advance research on language and literacy development among deaf children shows the important connection between education and health and the ways educational experiences can shape lifelong health outcomes.
