On October 13, UT Extension Eastern Region hosted its 2026 4-H Volunteer Celebration at the Jubilee Banquet Facility, welcoming 80 attendees for an evening of recognition and appreciation!

We were honored to have Reggie Lane, Director of Evolve with the University of Tennessee Football, as our guest speaker.

It was a wonderful evening filled with networking, award recognitions, and celebrating the dedicated volunteers who make a lasting impact on Tennessee 4-H youth. Thank you to all of our volunteers for the time, passion, and commitment you give to making the best better! 🍀

From Monday, September 27 through Thursday, October 1, approximately 860 attendees from across the U.S. traveled to Knoxville for the NEAFCS Annual Session, making it the most attended Annual Session to date—and a sold-out event! Attendees enjoyed a variety of in-depth and concurrent sessions, local tours and experiences, and a memorable Welcome Event at Dollywood that showcased true Southern hospitality. Highlights also included inspiring remarks from opening speaker Christine Williamson on the “Volunteer Spirit” and a well-attended Leadership Event featuring former UT Women’s Athletic Director Joan Cronan. Tri-Liaisons Shay Davis, Lacy Yeley, and Elizabeth Renfro extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed their time, resources, support, and ideas to make this record-breaking event in Knoxville a tremendous.

🎉 2026 Eastern Region Mini Conference! 🎉

On September 23, nearly 200 Extension staff from across the Eastern Region came together at Rothchild Catering & Conference Center for a great day of professional development, connection, recognition, and fun!

Throughout the day, staff participated in breakout sessions and activities, celebrated the accomplishments of our colleagues through awards and recognition, and had the opportunity to connect with others from across the region.

A huge THANK YOU to Dr. Hannah Wright, David Yates, and our special guest presenter, Nikki L. Garry, for sharing their time and expertise through breakout sessions for our staff. We are so appreciative of each of you for helping make the day a success!

We also challenged each of our 33 counties to bring a county-themed basket to the conference. Throughout the day, the baskets were drawn as door prizes—and our counties absolutely knocked it out of the park! 🎁👏 The creativity and thought that went into them was incredible.

📸 Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing photos of all 33 county baskets soon!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the 2026 Eastern Region Mini Conference such a wonderful day! 🧡
