For our final week, we’re highlighting the second half of our Pledge Educator dynamic duo, Ben Campbell, and learning more about why he chose AKPsi, what inspired him to serve as a valuable member of the Executive Board, and the impact the brotherhood has had on his college experience!
Ben came to Tennessee as a freshman from out of state, knowing no one and looking for a community of people who were just as driven to succeed as he was. After the very first night of rush, he knew he had found exactly what he was looking for. Since joining AKPsi, Ben has gained some of his best friends, grown professionally, and built a network that has directly led to internship opportunities. More than anything, the tight-knit brotherhood helped make a big school feel small and gave him a community he could call home.
As Pledge Education Co-Chair, Ben wanted the opportunity to give back to a process that had such a meaningful impact on him. He believes the pledge process provides an incredible opportunity for growth, and he hopes to help each new member develop professionally, build lasting relationships, and ultimately become a great brother.
Ben’s advice for anyone considering rushing: “Try it out! Worst case, you walk away with some free food. Best case, you find lifelong friends, grow as a person, and become a better business leader.”
He also encourages potential new members to come as they are, step outside their comfort zone, be curious, and focus on making meaningful connections with as many brothers as possible. Most importantly, enjoy the experience — Ben and the rest of the chapter are excited to meet each of you!
