The Alpha Delta Pi chapter at the University of Tennessee is 168 members strong, making it the largest sorority on campus! Dedicated to our university, our community, and more importantly each other, the ladies of ΑΔΠ are smart, talented, and beautiful, inside and out. The Alpha Kappa chapter of ΑΔΠ was founded at the University of Tennessee in 1920. Before the sorority received its charter, our f
ounding members originally met in the basement of the female dormitory, Humes Hall. Nationally, Alpha Delta Pi was founded seventy years earlier at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia. Alpha Delta Pi holds the distinction of being the first secret society for women and the mother of today’s sorority system. We were founded on the principles of scholarship, leadership, service to others and sisterhood. These principles still guide the policies and programs of the sorority today.

Alpha Delta Pi adopted the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) as its national philanthropy in 1979. Ronald McDonald Houses are located worldwide and provide a "home away from home" for families who have sick children in the hospital. Having the Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville located on University of Tennessee’s campus allows our sisters a wonderful opportunity to truly get involved in our community. We volunteer at the house on a weekly basis and take part in fundraising activities each semester. A few include Turkey Tailgate before a home football game and Park in the Park during the spring semester. Through our charitable events, we not only raise money for the house, we bring awareness to a worthy cause.
