From garden to table! 🥔🌱

Our campus harvest is complete! Students and volunteers spent time digging up fresh potatoes grown right here on campus last Friday. Last week, they picked out garlic as well. Hands-on learning takes many forms at Kodiak College - and sometimes it means getting your hands dirty in the soil!

Upcoming classes at KSMSC !! 🌊

Ammonia Refrigeration Operator
🗓️ November 10–14

This new class trains experienced, mechanically skilled employees to become certified ammonia refrigeration operators, with a focus on seafood processing in Alaska. Participants need to successfully complete online training and an examination prior to the course held November 10–14 at the Kodiak Seafood and Marine Science Center. Ammonia Refrigerator Operator certification will be awarded upon successful completion of the course and an in-person skills assessment. 🐟

Development and Implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) for Ammonia Refrigeration Facilities
🗓️ November 16–17

Gain the knowledge and tools to build a stronger safety culture in your workplace through this two-day class held at the Kodiak Seafood and Marine Science Center. Participants will learn specific OSHA requirements for each of the 14 PSM elements and will be examined using practical, hands-on approaches. 🤝🏼

Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.

If you’ve been around Kodiak for a while, you know fall doesn’t exactly arrive on schedule. 🍂

The equinox came and went, and we’re still waiting for the leaves around campus to catch up.

So while we wait, here’s a little throwback to fall at Kodiak College last year.
