A Big Thank You to the Wonderful Panel, and Moderator who were at The Arts as Resistance in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center!

Jennie Anderson-Meger, Jason Howard, Rick Walters, and Benjamin Gonzales were on the Panel. The Moderator was Sean Martin.

The question covered for that night was about beauty, how it is shown in resistance in art, and how it helps through dark times of need.

Each of the panelists gave their feelings to the question and about how art shapes our interpretations differently, our emotions, and our resistance to issues in the world.
Many of the panelists add in about how art has made them feel specifically such as Benjamin's comment about how Pablo Picasso's "Guernica" (1937, Oil on Canvas) still leaves a lasting impression on him, even after all these years after seeing it.

Thank you once again to the panelists and moderator for the informative and interesting conversation!

Our Story

At Viterbo, humanities programs provide the foundation for students who seek a true liberal arts education, who demand academic rigor, and who crave a skill set necessary for negotiating the challenges of creating a rewarding life. Humanities students study history, culture, language, philosophy and religion in order to understand the ideologies that shape people and society. They become critical thinkers who grapple with ideas by considering multiple viewpoints, including those that test their own existing philosophies, in order to promote civil discourse, uphold democratic ideals and construct a more just society. Our students are well-equipped for graduate work, and they have the opportunity to enter a range of vital professions including law, politics, public relations, research, government work, public and nonprofit service, publishing, education and more.
