Brothers in the Epsilon Iota Bond,

The Patrick J. Stephens Memorial Garden is truly beginning to take shape, and Gregg Slapak and I sincerely hope you will join us for its dedication at high noon on July 4th at the chapter house.

Together, we will celebrate the life and legacy of JAR as the flags are raised for the very first time on the garden's new 30-foot flagpole—a fitting tribute to a brother who meant so much to so many.

Following the ceremony, Brother Gregg Slapak warmly invites everyone to stay for a good old-fashioned beer and brat fry as we continue the celebration of brotherhood, memories, and the enduring spirit of Epsilon Iota.

We hope to see you there.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Wayne "Jake" Jacobson, Fall '65 initiate and one of the Dirty Dozen. Jake passed away at his home on Friday, May 1. Funeral and Burial Arrangements follow:

FUNERAL: THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2026 - English Lutheran Church, 1509 King Street, La Crosse. Visitation - 9:30 until 11, and services following the visitation. Lunch to be served following the service.

BURIAL: FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2026 - Roselawn Memorial, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona, Wisconsin 53716, 12:00 (noon) p.m..

Jake was an exemplary brother who believed in putting the Fraternity first. His loyalty, spirit and commitment will not be forgotten and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

And last, but certainly not least, Senior Sunday highlights Cam Jacobs!

Cam joined Delta Sigma Phi because he wanted to create meaningful connections that would last and benefit him a lifetime.

After graduating, Cam will be going to UW-Madison to pursue a master's in special education.

Last weekend, Brothers Javier Gamino and Lukas Paulson attended the Civic Engagement Institute in Washington, DC, a flagship leadership program hosted by Delta Sigma Phi nationals designed to strengthen brothers’ understanding of civic responsibility and community impact. Throughout the experience, they had the opportunity to tour historic landmarks across the nation’s capital, gaining a deeper appreciation for the foundations of American government and public service.

In addition to exploring DC’s history, they engaged directly with government officials and professionals working in public service, learning firsthand how leadership, policy, and community engagement intersect in meaningful ways. The institute emphasized that civic engagement extends beyond formal titles or positions and is rooted in everyday actions that contribute to stronger, more connected communities.

This experience reflects Delta Sigma Phi’s ongoing commitment to developing principled leaders who are prepared to make a difference both within their chapters and in the communities they serve.
