The College of Science and Health is excited to celebrate the 28th year of the Dean's Distinguished Fellowship program and showcase our students' exceptional research during the Summer Research Symposium on August 5th from 10am-11am in the Student Union Bluffs. This event is free to attend and features over fifty presenters with research in numerous fields. Come see their hard work and ask questions during presentations!

The UWL Alumni and Friends Foundation and The College of Science and Health are excited to congratulate alumnus Brian Soller on being named President of JENOPTIK!

Brian earned his bachelor's degrees in physics and mathematics from UW-La Crosse and has built an impressive career as a technology executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience in optics, photonics, instrumentation, semiconductors, and advanced materials.

In his new role, he will lead the strategic development, operations, and long-term growth of JENOPTIK's U.S. optics and photonics business.

Congratulations, Brian, on this well-deserved achievement! We are proud to celebrate your success and the impact you're making in the technology industry.

We had a record breaking year for River Clean-Up cosponsored by the River Studies Center and the College of Science and Health last weekend! This morning UWL hosted a groundbreaking ceremony with attendees from across UW Systems, government representatives, and the local community to commemorate the removal of Cowley Hall to make room for the new Prairie Springs Science Center II! We can't wait for our new home in PSSC II and are excited to see every bit of construction happen along the way for this long-awaited project! Thank you to Chancellor Beeby, Provost Morgan, and all the other faculty, staff, and students who have worked so hard to get to this day!

This week the Hillview Center for multigenerational interactions and activities opened. UWL Professor Jenn Taylor, Recreational Therapy Faculty, and RT Students all played an integral role in working to make sure Hillview met its Grand Opening goal.
