🌞The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory is issued for the San Diego Coasts for temperatures in the 90s beginning at 10:00 a.m. today 8/25/26- Friday 8/28/26 8:00 p.m.
⁃ Stay inside or in shaded areas
- Drink plenty of water
- If you feel sick from the heat, call 9-1-1
- Never leave young children or pets alone in vehicles
Find a cool place near you and tips to beat the heat at coolzones.org

BTS of our Emergency Management Tabletop Exercise with over 20 campus partners, including Deans of the Colleges, UC San Diego Police, ResLife offices, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Campus Life, University Centers. Recreation, Facilities Management, RRSS, EH&S, Transportation, Libraries, CAPS, and Student Health. Thank you to all of our participants; players and observers. We also had evaluations from UC San Diego Health, SDSU, and CSU San Marcos. The Tabletop Exercise connected many resources and generated great discussions that will be incorporated into our emergency planning and protocols.

Thank you for the great conversations, delicious food and the opportunity to showcase our Campus Emergency Response Team program, Hands-Only CPR and always great to see the UCSD Employee Wellness team too.

Thank you to our partners and participants at Rya Pepper Canyon West Res Life for having us out for a summer Great ShakeOut and Gear Up event. We can't wait for the October 15th Great ShakeOut event at Marshall Field. Our participants learned life-saving skills and resources to know what to do following an earthquake or disaster with first aid, fire extinguisher, and bystander hands-only CPR training. Thank you to Diego and UC San Diego Police Department for providing support too!

We are pleased to welcome the newest graduates to the UC San Diego Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) team! These individuals successfully completed the academy by attending a series of Saturday classes, which concluded on May 31, 2026.

This recent academy included 12 UC San Diego students—our largest student cohort to date, marking an exciting milestone for our program. 🔱❤️Tritons join us for Hands‐Only CPR/AED day, June 3rd.
💕Learn how to respond to a sudden cardiac arrest using hands-only CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) from professional first responders. Get hands-on experience with our practice mannequins. This is a non-certified course; no card will be issued upon completion.

Each session is made up of three half-hour segments:

Hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
Question and answer
Sign up CPR & AED Training via the UC Learning Center and reserve your slot.

Thanks to all of our Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) members who we’re able to join us for a refresher training and checking out our Emergency Containers for CERT and touring our Emergency Operations Center (EOC). We hope to have more refresher training opportunities soon so stay tuned or follow us.

🔱CERT Team we have scheduled our next CERT refresher class for May 18, 2026. The refresher will have two sessions, the first from 9:00 to 11:00 am and the second from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The subject and material will be the same for each session, please sign up for the session that works best for you.
The refresher will consist of a tour of the new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in Suite 375A of Torrey Pines Center South, and an orientation on the CERT containers located around campus. This orientation will include walking to the emergency container across from Triton Track and familiarization with the equipment on the emergency container.
