Introducing UC San Diego’s newest major: Business Data Science 🎓📊
Launching Fall 2026, this interdisciplinary degree brings together data science, artificial intelligence, and business through the Halıcıoğlu School of Data Science & Computing (HDSI) and the Rady School of Management.
From understanding customer behavior to solving complex organizational problems, graduates will be prepared to turn data into strategic business decisions across industries.

Students will build technical skills in programming, mathematics, and machine learning, while learning how to apply them to entrepreneurship, analytics, and strategy, making this a first-of-its-kind program in the UC system.
Students will develop a foundation in Python, R, statistics, data management, machine learning, and data analysis.
Students will also explore accounting, customer analytics, AI and technology strategy, finance, and managerial decision-making.
