Tonight, the undergraduate Class of 2026 gathered for Baccalaureate, a special evening of worship, reflection and celebration as our students prepare for Commencement Weekend.

As one final moment together as a complete undergraduate community, students, families and friends paused to reflect on God’s faithfulness throughout the Biola journey. Graduates also participated in the tradition of ringing the Biola Bell as a testimony to all God has done during their time at Biola. 🔔🎓

During the service, President Barry Corey prayed a commissioning over the graduating class, saying in part: “May the Lord cause you to prosper as you go out into the world ... May the Lord grant you peace ... Go now into the world to love and serve the Lord with gladness and singleness of heart.”

To the parents, families and loved ones who have supported our students throughout their journey, thank you. On behalf of Biola, we are deeply grateful for your encouragement, prayers and faithful support.

We look forward to celebrating our graduates at Commencement this weekend!

For the first time in university history, Biola University has received a $3.4 million research grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The funding supports the BRIDGE Initiative, an interdisciplinary research project exploring how Christian beliefs shape engagement with genomic medicine. Led by Dr. Liz Hall with co-principal investigator Dr. Eu Gene Chin, the initiative brings together faculty across psychology, theology and health sciences to advance research at the intersection of faith and science.

“This grant matters because it positions [Biola for] truly interdisciplinary collaboration,” Hall said. “That kind of integration is rare, and it reflects the best of what a Christian university can offer.”

Last weekend, seniors marked the beginning of their final week of classes at Biola University with a campout on Metzger Lawn — following Singspiration, a time of campus wide worship. The evening was filled with s’mores, community and reflection in a place that has shaped so much of their journey.

Led by students, the night created space to celebrate the friendships and memories that have defined their time at Biola.

“I’m walking away feeling thankful for the transformative friendships I’ve made at Biola and the formative memories I’ve had in this place!” — Lindsay Comer, worship arts major and graduating senior

We are looking forward to celebrating all of our at Biola Commencement 2026 on May 8 and 9!
