Don't forget to join the Humanities Center today at 1pm on Zoom, when we host our final Book Publishing Lab workshop of the semester with academic developmental editor Dr. Shanon Fitzpatrick.

Dr. Fitzpatrick will discuss what academic developmental editors do and how they assist with large scholarly projects before moving into a discussion of a manuscript in progress by BPL Fellow Dr. Kanika Batra of the Department of English.

Don't forget to join us today in 228 Weeks Hall at 1pm for a workshop in the Book Publishing Lab, as we continue to discuss a new manuscript in process by Book Publishing Lab Fellow Dr. Lauren Miller of Anthropology.

Our guest speaker will be Dr. May Joseph of Pratt Institute.

Dr. May Joseph is the founder of Harmattan Theater, an environmental theater company based in New York City and Professor of Global Studies in the Department of Social Science and Cultural Studies at Pratt Institute, New York. She is currently the Managing Co-Editor-in-Chief of ‘Island Studies Journal’, https://islandstudiesjournal.org. Dr. Joseph's scholarly research combines critical theory with architectural and environmental theory and performance practice.

Join the Humanities Center on Monday and Wednesday for our final two workshops of the semester in the Book Publishing Lab!

The Humanities Center's Book Publishing Lab is a competitive program for tenured or tenure-track faculty members in humanities fields, designed to support and expedite the publication of original scholarly monographs. In the coming week, the Center will be hosting our final two workshops: on Monday, in person, with Dr. May Joseph, and on Wednesday, online, with Dr. Shanon Fitzpatrick.

These workshops offer an inside look at the peer review process, strategies for revising long projects, and insight into the mechanics of scholarly publishing. Open to all faculty and graduate students.

Join the Humanities Center on Monday and Thursday for two workshops in the Book Publishing Lab!

Dr. Scafe will lead a workshop on a new scholarly book-in-progress by BPL Fellow and TTU Professor of English Dr. Kanika Batra (with Dr. Maryse Jayarusiya of St. Louis University).

Join the Humanities Center on Monday, April 27 in 328 Weeks Hall from 1:00 to 2:30pm when we host a workshop with Dr. Petra Rethmann, Professor of Anthropology from McMaster University. Dr. Rethmann will be workshopping a developing book manuscript by BPL Fellow Dr. Lauren Miller, Associate Professor of Anthropology here at Texas Tech.

This event is open to all TTU faculty and graduate students and provides an inside look at the revision process for scholarly books and insight into the publishing process for original monographs.
