CELEBRATING OUR FREEDOM!

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved Black Americans in Texas were finally notified that they were officially free. Although ALL enslaved people in the U.S. weren't officially granted their freedom until the 13th amendment was ratified on December 6, 1865. Juneteenth serves as a way for African Americans across the United States to collectively celebrate America's Emancipation Day.

Today, we are celebrating America's ideas of freedom and justice for ALL.
