Tomorrow evening (August 27, 2026) the Department of Physics at UL Lafayette’s Ray P. Authement College of Sciences invites you to join us for a special Lunar Eclipse Viewing Party from 9:00–11:30 PM.

Come experience the wonder of the night sky with our Physics faculty as we observe this remarkable astronomical event together.
At a time when space exploration, discovery, and innovation are opening exciting new frontiers right here in Louisiana, there could not be a better moment to look upward, ask questions, and be inspired by the science that connects us to the universe beyond our planet.

From studying the fundamental laws of nature to preparing the next generation of scientists and innovators, space science begins with curiosity, and curiosity begins by looking up!

The students are here, and our alumni showed up with heart.

Over the past couple of weeks, alumni volunteers joined us for SOUL Camp A and B to welcome our newest Ragin’ Cajuns into the UL Lafayette family. More than serving pizza, they spent time sharing their stories, offering advice, and helping students feel seen, supported, and connected from day one.

Their presence reminded our students that they are joining a community that believes in them — one where alumni continue to invest in the success of those who follow in their footsteps.

We are grateful for every volunteer, who continues to show up for our Ragin’ Cajun community with generosity, pride, and purpose.

It’s been an exciting start to the semester, and we’re only getting started. ❤️🤟

Class of 1976, what a joy it was to welcome you home and celebrate this special milestone!

This past weekend, members of the Class of 1976 returned to campus to celebrate 50 years and be officially welcomed into the Golden Ambassador Society. The day included a REgraduation ceremony, a campus tour led by student ambassadors, and a meaningful full-circle moment at Convocation with the Class of 2030.

As one class celebrated 50 years since graduation, another was just beginning its journey as our newest Ragin' Cajuns. Seeing those generations come together was a powerful reminder that the Ragin' Cajun experience continues long after graduation, connecting our past, present, and future.

Welcome home, Class of 1976, and welcome to the family, Class of 2030.

UL Lafayette will always be home. That is the Ragin' Cajun legacy. ❤️🤟
