Life in LoLa, Louisville & Lafayette CO

Life in LoLa, Louisville & Lafayette CO Welcome to the Indian Peaks and Waneka neighborhoods, where homeowners & trusted local agents talk about real estate in their Lafayette, CO community.

Meet Kristin Bramer - Your Lola, Louisville, and Lafayette Neighborhood Expert:

I have worked within real estate for the past 14 years, in the business of turning houses into homes. I specialize in helping sellers prepare their homes to appeal to the most buyers for the best price. On the buyers side I enjoy helping to identify and achieve all the potentials and possibilities in the homes they wa

nt. Either way it is a collaborative effort. I have worked in several industries in the past starting with my first real job working for IBM in California, I have worked for non-profits, been a small business owner, and have an interior design background. I enjoy remodel projects and know how to get that “bang for your buck” with home updates. The majority of my experience has been in Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, Erie, Superior, Broomfield, and Longmont, with occasional work farther north or south when needed. Specifically, I have expertise in Waneka Landing, Indian Peaks, and the newer developments of North End and Steel Ranch. I have been fortunate to have lived in numerous states in the US…California, Hawaii, Tennessee, Missouri, Alabama, and spent lots of time in Texas. I also lived in Guam and Jamaica. I have a four year degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Masters Degree from San Jose State, CA, and an Interior Design Certificate from Sheffield School of New York. I enjoy new challenges and continually learning. In addition to moving a lot in the past, I spent numerous summers on family camping trips in the Rocky Mountain before calling Colorado home. I have lived in Boulder County for the past 17 years. I was drawn to Colorado for the 300 days of sun in addition to the great snow days, not to mention the great sports teams, amazing culinary experiences, incredible music venues, and extensive outdoor life. I have a husband and two children. We first lived in Boulder and now reside in Lafayette. Both kids have moved through the Boulder County School system they are in middle school with one transitioning to high school next year. We spend a lot of our free time with kid’s sports (soccer, basket ball, karate) and activities (boy scouts and music). We also try to sneak a few ski/snowboard or local travel weekends in. Locally, I have been involved in the Chamber of Commerce and on the boards of two business groups. I look forward to seeing you at the Post restaurant or 95a Bistro in Lafayette, perhaps the Louisville Street fair, or walking our dogs around Waneka Lake, at the farmers market, hiking the trails, or any one of the other activities we have in this great state.

Geo sapiens; The Earth-wise Human

Martin Ogle, Earth Scientist and Energy Educator
Sept. 8, 11:45 AM MT (site opens early for conversation; program starts at noon)
The metaphor, Geo sapiens, blends scientific and cultural understandings of Earth as a living system and points us toward new ways of living. In this presentation, Martin Ogle, brings a 41-year career as a naturalist, Earth scientist and storyteller to bear in exploring how to see ourselves as Earth-wise humans.

Martin will share the evolution of scientific understanding of Earth in recent decades including the role that human behavior and worldviews play in Earth systems. Our ability to harmonize our thinking with how living systems work has huge implications for sustainability, and metaphors such as Geo sapiens will help in this endeavor. The presentation will also include the work of Martin’s non-profit called Geo sapiens – the integration of environmental education, energy education and job readiness, especially for young people.
