LCAD MFA graduate and mentor Ler Chang has been making her mark across Southern California. 🎨✨

Her work is currently featured in multiple group exhibitions, with a solo portrait show opening this month. As an exhibiting artist, MFA mentor + LCAD artist-in-residence, Ler brings her experience back to our community, supporting the next generation of artists.

LCAD Graphic Design + Digital Media senior Remy Maas created a new brand identity for Skating Is Connection (SIC) as a project in his Action Sports class. After his designs were selected by the brand, Remy traveled to Portland to see his work debuted at the 2026 Rockstar Energy Open! 🛹🎨

At LCAD, industry-focused projects are integrated into the curriculum, giving students opportunities to develop their work in real-world contexts and see their ideas come to life beyond the classroom.✨

Faculty Feature: Mason Williams 🏜️

Mason Williams is an LCAD professor and MFA Painting alum whose work is rooted in the American West, drawing from observation and memory to capture moments of adventure, beauty, and wonder.

His work has been exhibited at museums across the country and recognized by organizations including Oil Painters of America and the California Art Club, as well as featured in publications including Fine Art Connoisseur, Western Art Collector, and PleinAir Magazine.

A new chapter starts here. 🎨✨

This weekend, we welcomed our newest students and their families to LCAD! From moving into the dorms and settling into campus to our family welcome event, it was a weekend full of new beginnings, new connections, and excitement for the year ahead.

At the family welcome event, students and families heard from a panel of LCAD alumni who shared their experiences after graduation and the creative career paths their LCAD education helped them build, working on projects like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Inception, and Land of the Lost, as well as commercial work for brands like Louis Vuitton, Nintendo, and Taco Bell.

LCAD Faculty Feature: Alla Bartoshchuk 🎨✨

LCAD Instructor + MFA Painting alumna Alla Bartoshchuk is a Ukrainian-born American artist whose work draws from dreams, memory, mythology, and the subconscious. She creates symbolic paintings that explore the spaces where reality and imagination meet with layered narratives of identity, resilience, and transformation.

Alongside her teaching career, Alla maintains an active studio practice, with work exhibited nationally and internationally and featured in numerous publications.

This summer LCAD students spent three weeks learning, exploring, and creating throughout Tuscany, with classes complemented by museum visits, historic sites, hands-on workshops, and cultural excursions.

Every experience offered a new way to connect with the art, history, and culture they were studying, bringing their coursework to life through LCAD’s Global Learning program in Tuscany. 🗺️ 📷✨
