Faculty Feature: Josh Freydkis 🤩

Josh is a multidisciplinary artist working across illustration, animation, and creative direction, with over 15 years of experience. His work spans an impressive range of industries, with clients including Adult Swim, Marvel, Dark Horse Comics, MTV, GIPHY, RVCA, and Baker Skateboards.

This semester, Josh brings his industry experience to LCAD’s Illustration Across the Surface: Apparel and Illustration Senior Portfolio courses, helping students develop their work and prepare for creative careers.

Graphic Design + Digital Media alumnus Eli Tully is a Marketing Graphic Designer at Vissla, working alongside fellow LCAD alumni. That connection continues to grow as LCAD students recently collaborated with Vissla and Roland DGA to produce booth banners for the Cosmic Creek Surf Festival.

LCAD Graphic Design + Digital Media students partnered with Vissla to fabricate more than 80 feet of booth displays for Vissla’s Cosmic Creek Surf Festival, learning the full production process through hands-on training from the Roland DGA team. 🏄✨

Thank you to Vissla and Roland DGA for giving our students real-world industry experience! Bringing industry to campus is what LCAD is all about.

Congratulations to LCAD Gallery Manager Bryan Heggie on being honored at Sunday’s LOCA ArtsGiving event for his career as an artist, curator, and fine art specialist.

Through his work at LCAD Gallery, as well as his involvement with local organizations including LBAA, Third Street Writers, LOCA, and the Department of Education, Bryan supports community arts events, mentors emerging artists, and continues to make a meaningful impact on the local arts community.
