BYU–Hawaii’s Hospitality & Tourism Management students took center stage at a high-level national meeting in Tarawa, Kiribati, presenting their vision for tourism development and rebranding on Christmas Island to the Cabinet, Parliament, and global partners.

Their work highlighted real-world impact featuring implemented “Experience Engineering” strategies, World Bank-supported initiatives, and a forward-looking plan for sustainable growth.

This milestone reflects the power of student-driven innovation, as BYU–Hawaii students contribute directly to a major national development effort and help shape the future of Kiribati.

Students from BYU–Hawaii’s Hospitality & Tourism Management program traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, to attend the Travel & Adventure Show, one of the nation’s premier tourism events. 🌍✈️

The experience offered valuable exposure to global tourism organizations, destination marketing professionals, and travel innovators—transforming the trip into a hands-on learning opportunity beyond the classroom.

Through meaningful conversations and cultural exchange, students discovered that successful hospitality and tourism are built on authenticity, emotional connection, and human storytelling.
