Update for the trip to the Highland Park Observatory in Baton Rouge tomorrow Friday October 5:

The LSU football game is at Florida on Saturday so hopefully that means the BR traffic will not be as bad. For that reason we will be departing later in the day.

Current itinerary:
3:30 PM: Depart MSU campus in student cars (my truck holds 5 comfortably).
6:00 PM: Grab food in BR (District Donuts anyone?)
7:30-8:30PM: WONDERS OF THE FALL SKY astronomical program at Highland Park Observatory (free)
8:30-10PM: Evening Sky Viewing (use their telescopes to view astronomical objects)
10:30PM: depart Baton Rouge
12:00 AM: Arrive back at MSU

DM me (Phoenix) or reply to this post if you are interested.

Thanks guys!

Hey everyone just reminder that tonight is the last meeting for astronomical society of the semester. It will not be a long meeting (only about 10-20 minutes so we do not conflict with Nepali night) yet attendance would be highly appreciated! We will be picking our new Treasurer and Vice President tonight as well as finalizing our t-shirt design for our t shirts!

P.S. don’t forget about the star raffle at the end of the Spring Semester! the more meetings you attend the higher the chance you could win your own star to name!
