Taryn Smith rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, completely alone.

Amidst 30 foot waves, sharks, and unrelenting wind, Taryn found happiness and purpose. Her message is simple: we are meant to do big things and the resilience required comes from community.

Learn more about her ⬇️ and then come hear her speak at Red Rocks on Sept. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m.

3,000 miles. One boat. No crew.

Taryn Smith became the first American woman to compete in The World's Toughest Row as a solo athlete — through 30-foot waves, sharks and wind that never quit.

Her message: we are meant to do big things. And the resilience to get there comes from community.

Taryn is coming to Red Rocks on September 1. Come hear her story. Link in bio.

Walk through our front door and you'll find something unexpected.

21 sculptures by renowned Mexican artist José Sacal are now on display in the main lobby of our Lakewood campus — and they're meant to stop you in your tracks. Sacal's widow shared that he wanted students to simply stumble upon his work during a typical day.

From Gandhi depicted with elephant feet to abstract portraits of historical figures, each piece invites a closer look — and a conversation.

On display through Nov. 3. Free and open to the public during regular campus hours.

Check out some of the photos from the opening reception of the Jose Sacal: Un Mexicano Universal, art exhibit that we’re thrilled to be hosting at RRCC.

We had the pleasure of learning more about Sacal from renowned historian Gregorio Luke, who helped us see how Sacal saw the world and how he expressed it in his sculptures of famous people and artworks.

The work is on display in the main lobby of our Lakewood campus through Nov. 3. We hope you’ll check it out.

Thank you to the for helping bring this work to our students and community.

More Red Rocks students are about to get help paying for college. The RRCC Foundation was the recipient of a generous grant from the Reisher Family Foundation — expanding scholarship access for students across both campuses.

“Our work is to remove barriers and ensure students can reach their goals to transform their lives. This generous gift is going to help us reach even more students,” said Jane Marsh, Executive Director of the RRCC Foundation. “We are so thankful for this partnership.”

The work you do every day has a name — and a career path behind it.

A new statewide report names Red Rocks a "bright spot" in preparing Colorado's early childhood educators — students learning in a real classroom at our on-campus Children's Center, coached by paid mentor-teachers, on a path that leads toward teacher licensure.

This is the program the state points to for turning the work you already do into a career.

And the Innovation Scholarship may cover your tuition.
