Howard College - Lamesa Howard College-Lamesa is a campus of Howard College. The campus offers many basic core classes right here for your convenience.

In 1972 Howard College began offering classes in Lamesa, located 45 miles north of Big Spring, at the request of its citizens. A building provided by Dawson County has been used since that time. And then in 1974 Howard County Junior College was renamed Howard College and the mascot name was shortened to Hawks.

Today is the day! 🎉❤️

On September 30, 1946, Howard College welcomed students for its very first day of classes. Today, we celebrate 80 years of students, faculty, staff, alumni and communities who have been part of our story.

Join us today at 1:00 p.m. in front of the Dora Roberts Student Union Building for our First Class Day Remembrance & Ribbon Cutting as we honor where it all started and celebrate how far we’ve come.

📱 Can’t make it in person? We’ll be LIVE on the Howard College Big Spring page so you can celebrate with us from wherever you are!

🪨 And don’t forget — TODAY is the LAST DAY of the HC80 Rock Hunt! Find those final rocks, snap a photo and post using to win a Howard College T-shirt!
