What counts as “moderate” vs. “vigorous” physical activity? 🤔
Moderate activity gets your heart beating faster, but you can still talk (like brisk walking or biking). Vigorous activity makes it hard to say more than a few words (like running or fast cycling).
Both count toward better health. 💪

🧊☀️ Beat the Heat—Keep Cold Foods Cold!

Hot summer days are perfect for picnics, cookouts, and family gatherings, but warmer temperatures also make it easier for bacteria to grow on perishable foods.

Follow these simple food safety tips to help keep everyone healthy:

❄️ Keep cold foods at 40°F or below until you're ready to eat.

⏰ Remember the 2-Hour Rule:

Refrigerate perishable foods within 2 hours.
If the outdoor temperature is 90°F or higher, refrigerate them within 1 hour.

🥗 Foods like potato salad, pasta salad, cut fruit, dairy products, meat, poultry, seafood, and cooked vegetables should never sit out too long.

🧊 When serving food outdoors, place bowls of cold food on ice to help keep them chilled longer.

If you're unsure whether food has been sitting out too long, it's safest to throw it away. When in doubt, throw it out!

💬 What summer foods are always on your picnic table? Tell us in the comments!
