The gears are turning inside the Computer Integrated Machining lab! ⚙️

First-year students are learning to square a box, developing their ability to inspect tolerances and understand the precision required in machining.

Across the lab, second-year students are advancing their skills through project-based learning. Using design software, they’re creating tool holders to be manufactured on the shop floor and completing boring projects to learn how to drill holes with CNC machinery.

By expanding access to the tools and technology found in today’s advanced manufacturing shops, students can gain the technical expertise to pursue high-demand careers.

Our alumni are making an impact across Central Pennsylvania, strengthening the region’s workforce and creating opportunity for others.

Last night, Bryan Weathers, a 2007 graduate of the Business Administration program, was awarded a Central Penn Business Journal Forty Under 40 award. The honor recognizes emerging leaders who are advancing in their careers and giving back to their communities.

Bryan’s commitment to helping others succeed reflects the lasting impact our alumni can make beyond the classroom. 🐾

As Bryan puts it, “I’m passionate about creating opportunities, building people up, and making a positive impact in Central Pennsylvania…”

Thanks to Representative Smith-Wade-El and to all of the state leaders for your dedication to and our students! This grant will allow us to expand our educational spaces, and offer more students the opportunity to learn trades and technology so they can pursue thriving futures.

I was proud to secure a RACP grant of $4,000,000 for Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Funds will support renovation of the historic Lancaster Almshouse, transforming the building into a state of the art, accessible Workforce Development Center that enables TSCT to continue training and equipping students for success!

A career in facility maintenance starts with the knowledge to keep systems and structures running.

The Workforce and Economic Development Center’s Facility Maintenance Technology program prepares students for thriving futures through six-month, skills-based education. 🔨

Students gain practical experience in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and wall repair and finishing techniques while learning to safely operate industry-specific tools and equipment. Along the way, they can earn industry-recognized credentials in OSHA safety, Lockout/Tagout, rigging, forklift operation and customer service.

Thaddeus Stevens College is removing barriers for non-traditional students to enter high-demand careers, part of our commitment to offering different pathways to bright futures.

From the classroom to a career, Jeremiah Polynone is helping shape the next generation of skilled craftspeople.

Yesterday, Jeremiah shared how practical education and industry partnerships can help address the woodworking labor shortage at Wood Pro Expo Lancaster.

As a second-year Cabinetmaking & Wood Technology instructor at , Jeremiah prepares students for professions in woodworking through a project-based curriculum that combines applied learning with traditional craftsmanship.

Through his work, he helps remove barriers to thriving careers, helping students develop the skills necessary to meet real-world challenges.

Expanding access to education starts with showing the next generation the possibilities ahead.

had the chance to participate in Spark of Engineering, connecting high school students with pathways where they can put their skills to work. 🤖

We welcomed students from McCaskey High School into our Electro-Mechanical Technology lab, where they had the opportunity to explore technology and trades through applied learning. They then visited Precision Cobotics to see firsthand how technical skills translate into the workplace.

By connecting students with education and industry, we’re helping them discover rewarding careers leading to family-sustaining wages.
